How to Get Involved

If you are genuinely interested in the Wheel, there's lots to know about what it is and how we roll as a community. We have made our best effort to organize information in a way that is easy to access and take in. Once you meander through the resources we've outlined for you, please feel free to reach out to us at robin(at)insacredbalance(dot)org with any questions you might have.

The Wheel of the Year is the most extraordinary, dynamic, transformative and empowering course of exploration that In Sacred Balance offers. A year-long intensive of spiritual study that aligns with seasonal rhythms, the Wheel community has deep roots and the benefit of constancy that helps to provide a solid container in which our continued growth, both individually and collectively, unfolds. With many members who have been with us for years, and even decades, this core community serves as a backbone for the wider communities we serve all across the country. We balance our history, depth and continuity with growth and a welcoming spirit, as each year sees an influx of new extraordinary members. For those of you who are genuinely longing for, or curious about, feminist spiritual community that balances a love of the earth, with a commitment to social justice, the Wheel provides a sound context in which to live and grow.

As far as spiritual growth and exploration goes, we are very proud to be a community in which every person is welcome to have their own cosmology and develop a distinctly personal spiritual practice; a nature-based practice that feels useful, joyous, reflective of their own ancestries, faith leanings, needs, and nature. We do not all see divinity the same way, nor do we adhere to any dogma that dictates what "correct" spiritual practice looks like. Through adherence to common Foundational Principles, which are essential to the well-being of our community, the Wheel allows space for spirituality to be what it is, a deeply personal experience.

Because the Wheel is a serious commitment on the part of all parties and we want to make every effort to take good care with admissions, there is a process, with stages of getting to know each other, that is laid out below .

We encourage any women (trans inclusive) or non-binary folks who are truly interested in joining the Wheel to take the time to get to know us through our many other offerings:

We also offer an intro, prerequisite course, Women's Sacred Mysteries, that begins in early November every year. Participation in the course is essential as it allows interested parties an opportunity to experience the balance of programming components and the nature of our work we do as a community.

When someone has completed the Women Sacred Mysteries class and has questions about joining the Wheel, we schedule a conversation with someone in our leadership team to answer your questions and to discern together if the particular support and commitment of the Wheel of the Year is a good fit for you at the time.

Still have questions? Please contact robin(at)insacredbalance(dot)org and let us know, we would love to hear from you.
